In the last year, and especially the last six months, I’ve been through a lot. So much, that I’ve basically been coasting through on as little effort as possible to keep my life and business running so that I could deal with the emotional and logistical demands that were thrown my way.
Which isn’t to say that I haven’t been doing anything. Believe me, I’ve been managing appointments and life stuff, addressing my grief and overwhelm, helping my kiddos through their own healing, practicing self-care as best I can, spending time working with my clients and doing my best to stay on top of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps my business going.
But when I look at the calendar and all that I set out to achieve in 2019, it would be easy to think, “I failed. It’s over. I’ll just focus on making 2020 a great year.”
But here’s the thing: all we have is NOW. We’re not guaranteed anything other than this moment we’re in right here. And there’s still a quarter of 2019 (12 weeks!) left. So why not make those last three months the best we can? Why not make this moment the best we can?
Here are three things you can do to make NOW (and the rest of 2019) the best it can be:
- Ask yourself what you want to FEEL. How do you want to feel about your day when you climb into bed tonight? And how do you want to feel about 2019 at 11:59pm on December 31? Maybe you want to feel like you’ve loved and been loved. Maybe you want to feel joy and peace at the thought of all the people you served. Maybe you want to feel like you’ve achieved success. Whatever it is, acknowledge it. Then…
- Ask yourself how you can cultivate those feelings with action. What can you do right now to start creating those feelings of love, peace, joy or success? What activities bring those feelings into your awareness? Just take note of the types of activities that create those feelings in your being. Next…
- Do the thing(s)! Can you reach out to someone you care about? Maybe you can sit in silence and feel the peace of knowing you’re in the exact right place at the exact right time. Make a list of the accomplishments you’ve achieved in your business and personal life in the last few months. Or do something right in this moment that makes you feel successful, like investing in yourself or connecting with your audience/customer base/ideal client.
I may seem too simple, but knowing what we want to feel and then creating that feeling is exactly what makes the most of each moment.
If it seems too hard or you’re looking for specific ways to create feelings you’re not used to creating, I’m here to help. I have space in my schedule this month for free calls to help kickstart your goals and get you unstuck. Reach out!
Then get out there and create a life you love!
